Redbridge Group Chairman Roy Murton
Retires Our much respected Chairman Roy Murton has retired |
Although Roy's Redbridge Marquetry Group had not yet achieved the group shield, the group did however achieve the Rosebowl award in 2015 for the best exhibit in the Marquetry Society's International Exhibition. Roy's advice and guidance was the catalyst the group needed for attaining its high awards and recognition in marquetry circles world wide. It was Roy who organised our very successful summer exhibitions in the Dovecote Galleries each year for the past decade. The summer exhibition always attracted copious amounts of visitors and annualy encouraged new membership to join our group. Roy was also one of our main marquetry tutors and it was he who personally taught and guided many marquetry novices up to becoming award winning marquetarians in their own right. Enjoy your retirement Roy, and of course
Roy's delicious tea making wife Gloria, (who was also a member
of the Redbridge Marquetry Group), and who also retired
alongside Roy - we will miss you both from our Wednesday group
meetings. We all wish you good health and good luck in your
retirement. You have most certainly earned and deserve a most
happy retirement. |
